Fighting Tigrex

Fighting Tigrex in this game will give you a lot of fun! (the key are: relax, dont panic when fighting tigrex, no rushing, learn its movement, tigrex is predictable monster!)
what to prepare? (for a swordman)
10 Potion
10 Mega Potion
5 Flash Bomb
2 Trap Tool
2 Genprey Fang
1 Shock Trap
8 Tranq Bomb (optional, if you want to capture it alive)
Pitfall Trap (for capturing only)
Well Done Steak (to gain a full stamina boost)
10 Bomb Material & 10 Flash Bug ( combined them and you will have Flash Bombs )
Combination Book 1, 2, 3 and 4 (so you will have 100% success rate when combining Flash Bomb)
Hot Drink or Cold Drink (Tigrex only shows in Snowy Mt or Dessert)
10 Armor Seeds
10 Power Seeds
and dont forget to bring your most powerfull weapon, and the weapon with Thunder Attribute is best to fight Tigrex!

Here's how you fight tigrex:
first you consume all you need before fight tigrex such as armor seeds and power seeds and hot drink, when first encounter, set your shock trap from the distance, tigrex's standard attack is running through you so it will be easy to trap it! when the tigrex stun by your trap, attack its face as fast as you can, as much damage as you can give!! after that use your flash bomb to blind the tigrex, but please watch the tigrex's movement so you wont waste your flash bomb for nothing. watch for distance attack by tigrex, always running to left or right side of the tigrex so you will survive from its attack.
if the Tigrex entering RAGE mode (angry), it shows by the tigrex screaming, please dont fight the tigrex in this time, just dodging its attack and wait until the tigrex jump 2(two) times and stand still for a couple of seconds, it mean he no longer in rage mode, and attack while the tigrex stand still.
the best times to throw flash bomb is when the tigrex rotate its body to facing you, thats the time!! you wont miss it!
after get a few hits by your sword, tigrex will fly to another map, use this chance to recover, eat power+armor seeds and combine your shock trap. (NOTE: please use 1 trap in 1 area only, I tried once using couple traps in 1 area and the result is I lost my second trap because the tigrex is running away to another area while Im setting my trap in current area...HMMPFFF!! what a waste!)
use this tricks to fight the tigrex and you will find it badly injured in no time!
dont forget to cut its tail before you injured the tigrex to much, cutting its tail is the most fun part when fighting tigrex, and remember, you always can carve 1 item from its tail!
if you want to capture the tigrex alive, injured it until the tigrex walk crippledly, that mean the tigrex will sleep. if you fighting tigrex in Snowy Mountain, it will go to area 3, and if you fight it in Dessert, tigrex will go to area 9, these area has perfect surface to set pitfall trap, set the pitfall after tigrex has fallen asleep, and when it woke up, throw 2 Tranq bomb to its face and ... 'Objective Cleared!' if you capture tigrex alive, you will gain more item than just killed it.
thats it! with this tricks, I've been killed more than 40 tigrex. so believe me, it works!

FELYNE KITCHEN SECRET

my Suggestion is to match to food with the quest, example: if you fighting fire wyvern, eat the food which gonna increase your fire resistance, but its all up to you guys! you already know 'the secret'!

Preparing for the quest! useful items needed!

When You go on a quest, you should always prepare yourself for that certain quest, every quest has a different area, maps, weather and temperature. so make sure you bring all the necessary items!
so, if you run out of items you need, buy or combine them! (in order to gain maximum possibility of successful combining, you have to buy all Combination Book in store!)
the basic items you have to bring with you on HUNTING QUEST (you'll fight boss monster) are:
1. Potion (Herb+Blue Mushroom) x 10
2. Mega Potion (Potion+Honey) x 10
3. Whetstones (if you are using Sword/Lance), the amount is relatives, according to your sword sharpness.
4. Cool Drink/Hot Drink (according to area, in volcano and dessert(day) you definitely have to bring cool drink, or in the dessert(night) and Snowy Mountain, you should bring Hot drink. the jungle doesn't need any)
5. Antidote or Herbal Medicine, in case you got Poison.
6. Power Seed x10, this item gives you Attack boost 40 point for just 5 minutes.
7. Armor Seed x10, this item gives you Defense boost 40 point for just 5 minutes.
8. Well Done Steak x 5, well done steak raise your stamina for 50 point (full stamina)
9. Max Potion x2, max pot raise your health +50(full), my suggest is use it when your health is low, you will be saving lot of Potion or Mega Potion. to combine Max Potion you will need Blue Mushroom, Godbug, Honey, and Dragon Toodstool.
this is how its done: Blue Mush+Godbug=Nutriens, Nutriens+Honey=Mega Nutriens, Mega Nutriens+Drag Toodstool=Max Potion! voila... you sure gonna need them!.. and yes!, I will posting the Combinatination List later!
10. Powercharm and Armorcharm(you will find this in HR2 in the item store inside the Gulid Hall), the function of 'em are raise your attack and def status just by only carrying them in your backpack. you also can combine them with Lao Shan's Claw to make more powerfull item, Armortalon and Powertalon. if you have enough money, you can buy another Powercharm and Armorcharm and bring these 4 item(Pwrchrm, Armrchrm, Pwrtalon, Armrtalon) and imagine how much extra Attack and Def point you'll gain!
11. Ancient Potion, bring this ONLY if you have spare unused slot on your backpack! this one gives you full boost for stamina and health, but you can only bring one of this item in your backpack!, so in my opinion, this one will cost you one slot that you could use to bring other more useful items!, so instead of bringing this, I rather bring something else.
12. Sonic Bomb x 10. these bombs are emit powerfull noise, so a monster with sensitive hearing will react when you throw it, such as Cephalos, Cephadrome, Plesioth, Yian Kut Ku, and Diablos
13. Flash Bomb x 5 (max), this bomb is emit powerfull light, blinding the monster temporary, most of the monster can be blinded by this! carefull cause they still can hit you while they blind! use this chance to set a TRAP!!!
14. Shock Trap and Pitfall Trap, you can only bring one of each, so I suggest you bring both! or you bring the item to combine them later in the quest. (trap toolx2, Genprey fang and Net) the weakness of Pitfall trap are; they can't be set in every surface! and they only works for big monsters, so if a Giadrome set a feet on this trap, nothing will happen. but pitfall trap gives you a longer time than the shock trap. my fave? Shock trap!
15. Pellet, or Coating. if you are using gunnery, make sure you bring all ammo! full loaded!
16. BOMBS! Lg Barrel Bomb, and Small Barrel Bomb! this one is my favourite! my team-mate called me bomber, because I have Bomber skill in my armor and I always using bomb to injured a monster! Im combine 'em with Scatterfish (Lg Barrel Bomb+) and Burst Arrowana(Small Barrel Bomb+), the advantage having a bomber skill is you can set a bomb faster than normal, and you can combine any bomb 100% success rate without any Combination Book, and of course,...BIGGER DAMAGE when the BOMB explode!

well, I guess, they are my standard items I will bring in my quest!
befor go to any quest, I always go to POKKE FARM for mining, fishing, catch bug and planting powerseed and armorseed(YES! they are plantable and it will work better if you have worms, Dung or Wyvern Dropping to fertilize the plant)
I always go to the FELYNE KITCHEN to eat and having extra status boost (the Secret of the felyn kitchen is my next posting!), and I also not forget to play with the PIGGY in the house! the trick is hearing the song, follow the tempo, right after the song end, you count 4 tap according to the tempo and press (X), thats when the '!' sign shows and you will have the Piggy jump up!, my friend ask me once,"what does it for?", its for LUCK! you will gain more rare items when carving !

so thats it! you all set! lets hunt!

ps: in the Low Rank Guild Hall Quest (HR1-3), you will still gonna find Supply Items provided by the guild in the Supply Item Box (Blue color) everytime you start a quest, so you shouldn't bring too much items from home in order to fit these 'free' items on your backpack! but in High Rank Gulid Hall Quest, the support from the guild is more dissapointed! so you will find no items in there until you see the 'SUPPLY DELIVERED' sign shows on your screen. so prepare yourself!

Fighting Yian Kut Ku is easy!

Yian Kut Ku is categorized as Bird Wyvern Family in Monster Hunter 2 Freedom.
To me, fighting Yian Kut Ku is the most easy and fun quest ever, its good for the beginner hunter to practice their evade/roll moves, Yian Kut Ku's moves is very easy to learn and predict.
if you are beginner hunter, you need to take a several quest of Yian Kut Ku just for practice, Im using Long Sword and I bring a lot of Sonic Bomb with me when fighting Yian Kut Ku.
the trick is to make the Kut Ku 'numb' for a 10 seconds by throwing sonic bomb in front of its face! (note: you have to throw it in front of its face or anywhere near its ear! bacause Kut Ku have a strong hearing, so the sonic bomb will hurt its ear)
when the Kut Ku numb for a while, he wont attack you instead the Kut Ku just standing still, you can use this chance to attack it several times or put 2 Lg Barrel Bomb and 1 Small Barrel bomb, or you can put Lighting Rod if the area is raining. do this and practice your evade/roll moves!

Map of Monster Hunter 2 Freedom

To those who just getting started, please go to the training school first at the north of the Pokke Village. finish all the basic training there and begin to quest!
in this posting I will give you the pictures of the Maps in MH2F which can help you in your gathering quest or show you Mining Spot to gather such a Machalite Ore, Carbalite Ore, Iron Ore, etc if you need 'em.
knowing your hunting zone is critical if you want to master this game (I didn't say that I have, though)
